In partnership with the Spotlight Initiative (a global initiative of the United Nations which has received generous support from the European Union), the Social Good Club is on a mission to guide the content creation industry in shaping a new culture; one that respects and uplifts women, creating safe spaces for everyone to live in peace and thrive. We create original fellowships, workshops, toolkits, and industry-focused campaigns to empower the content creation industry in supporting Spotlight Initiative’s mission of ending violence against women and girls by 2030.
In collaboration with The Spotlight Initiative, The #WithHer Champions is an annual fellowship program, curating influential groups of Creators to come together and learn about systemic issues that perpetuate an ecosystem of violence and oppression. As part of the fellowship, each Creator uses these learnings, alongside our support and resources, to produce a series for their channels to champion safety + equity for all female-identifying people.
In partnership with Ashoka and their network of fellows, we’re setting out on a research journey to uncover "How impact campaigners might effectively partner and engage creatives and influencers in campaigns that contribute to social movements bringing about positive systems change?"
The Better Internet Initiative is an annual fellowship and grant program, created in partnership with Fellow Americans, that curates cohorts of Influential Creators to engage in a year long program of education, capacity building, and content creation to develop unique ways of driving action around Progressive Policy. To-date, over 100 Creators with a combined following of over 100M+ have gone through the program and creating over 500 unique videos on topics so far have included, COVID + 2020 Election Misinformation, Social Justice + Equity, Economic Justice, Climate, Public Health, and Voting + Democracy Reform.
Co-founded by The Social Good Club, Work Anywhere is the global advocacy movement representing remote & hybrid workers, with 1.3 million followers.
As part of our partnership with the United Nations, we set out on a research project to understand “How might we inspire digital influencers, that are not already speaking out about the topic, to engage in conversations around gender-based violence?” We set out to answer this question through a series of literature reviews and focus groups to first understand the current landscape of Creator-Led activism and then to understand where the roadblocks existed that kept Creators from truly and meaningfully creating content around topics that were important to them and their audiences.
With 5 months left before the 2020 Election, we were invited to partner with an amazing group of activists and organizers, led by Xander Schulz, to help launch an online donor campaign that sent a donation to a coalition of black-led community organizing groups in key swing states EVERY TIME TRUMP TWEETED. And now that Trump is out of office, Defeat By Tweet has set their sights on 'The Seditious Six', Reps Jordan, Boebert, and Gaetz, and Senators Kennedy, Cruz, and Hawley, in addition to a wide variety of other issue-specific campaigns.
This issue is too big to tackle without first looking at yourself. As the kickoff to our work with Spotlight Initiative and the #WithHer campaign, we developed a self reflection tool that breaks open the ecosystem of Violence Against Women and Girls and helps individuals find where they are starting from.
The Recharged Podcast is a conversational and activity led video podcast which explores the idea of what it means to be an ‘activist’ or ‘change maker’ in the model digital age. Each episode sees Louis Cole, in his electrically converted 1973s VW van, taking his guest to meet, and hopefully be inspired by, a range of local social good heroes, learn about what they do and get hands on with their work. On the drive Louis and his guest will chat to help us understand more about what motivates them and what their own individual take on purpose is.
81 DAYS. 22 COUNTRIES. 4-SEATER PLANE. 2 FRIENDS. 1 BIG DREAM. Pilot Juan-Peter Schulze (JP) and travel vlogger Louis Cole set off to circumnavigate the world in a single-engine airplane in a celebration of global diversity. The duo had 81 days to complete their mission of offering a reminder that human connection, shunning preconceptions of different cultures, and respecting history is more important today than ever before.
